Yeah!! Great idea Jean and what a brilliant piece of post processing ;>)

I'm thinking 1959 here ;>)

Jean Gregory Evans on May 29, 2009

Jim, if I'd have had time, I think I would have just followed them all the way to their car show. 1959 was a great year.

Jim Evans (AXOTA) on May 29, 2009

1959 was the longest and hottest summer on record here in the UK Jean. It was also the year that I smashed my leg badly following a M/C accident, an event which was to affect my life so adversely!! I hankered after another M/C for years after ;>) When I eventually could reasonably afford one, the Japanese danged well altered the gear change in those intervening years. Changed it to a left foot operation. Having no ankle joint on that side, my M/C days were numbered ;>)

I just loved the post war era of cars Jean, USA designs were most influential here in the UK. "Bat Mobile" like fins and sexy bulbous front end designs, lots of chrome and absolutely awful to drive. Did you ever have column change gears?? They were not popular over here and auto change boxes were too cissyfied. Remember cheap gas??? Should have bought shares in TEXICO/SHELL etc

Ahh!! the joys of motoring ;>)

Illegal driver uh!! I hope that now your guilty conscience has been well and truly assuaged Jean...I bet that you could have driven the danged thing into the deepest disappearing hole in the land!!

Thanks for your amusing story smarty pants ;>)

Jean Gregory Evans on October 18, 2009

JLourenco, there are many antique car shows around these mountains and I get to see them as they travel to and from. It is fun for me to see them on the road, even better than parked.

Jim, you are so right. More than once, more than twice, I wished that very thing. Of course, I was lucky to have a car at all, but still... errr!

What a great vintage shot! Makes us go back in time, with long skirts, grease, sigarettes, and a bigger, way bigger world! LIKE (this is something I heard I was born in 1971!!) ;-)
