Best seen in full scale and magnified!
Spiders attack ! Beware sensitive people! Very impressive all the threads preparing for a kind of attack over an ennemy!
WOW! That's an excellent shot indeed, Peter! I zoomed in twice and I'm really impressed! I've never seen baby spiders as far as I know, much less so many at one time! It's a very beautiful and interesting capture! Thanks you for linking me to it! Best wishes, Anne
I am glad you like this photo as it seems to be a very lucky capture and be of interest to those who take an interest in insects.
I know that they were not in that position on Thursday as I sat in the shade and balanced my cup of tea on the post! I noticed them on Friday, and they were gone on Saturday; a nice stroke of luck!
I did not have a clue what they were and thought that they had been caught in the web. It was not until I took the photo and downloaded it that I could see the actual spiders. Having searched in Google, and Google images, I found a couple of similar photos and was astounded and pleased that I was able to witness an event that must happen very quickly.
Best Wishes, and keep your lovely photos coming, Peter
It may be of interest to note that not only did the spiders disappear overnight, but also all traces of the web.
Thanks for the visit and I will look at your gallery when I have time to do it justice!
Best wishes, Peter
Wow! I have never seen baby spiders either. I wondered at how you knew they were baby spiders so was relieved to learn you had to download the photo to identify them. No wonder most of us have not seen them if they come and go in a day. Thanks for showing us this lovely, detailed photo!
Peter brilliant, absolutely brilliant! I try hard to be observant but have never seen, never mind photographed such a sight. Lovely detail and focus. Well done.
Thank You Jethro
I am glad that I can return some of the pleasure that I have when I visit your Gallery.
This shot is really lucky and taken out of curiosity, as I sit here regularly and balance my tea (and sometimes a glass of ale) on the post. I am now searching for information about the reproduction of these spiders as it seems so fortunate that I was able to take the photo given the time that they were there. Perhaps it was the wish of Panoramians!
The only thing I can come up with at the moment is plucked from Wiki…
…or attaching them to the spinnerets and dragging them along.
It would be very fortunate if the Spider waited for me to go and then took them somewhere else! We need an Arachnologist!
That is one heck of a Wiki article Peter I now know for instance that these are spiderlings. However I couldn't comment on what team they were on even though they are all wearing the same tee-shirts.
We will soon be entering the orb-weaver time of year, over 'ere. I shall make sure I take a picture or two of these amazingly ugly critters for you, but I doubt I could come across weaverlings to rival this photo.
Hi Pedro :) I had never seen something like this :D Nature is really amazing :) Great catch!
Uma fotografia afortunada!
I had to laugh at you saying you did not know which team they were on. The photo was taken in Wolverhampton and the Wolves play in old gold and black!
On another post further away I have found another ball of baby spiders, and in trying to take a picture I slightly caught the web causing the spiders to disperse in all directions. About an hour and a half later they had all regrouped in a tight ball in the centre.
They have been there two days now, and the section of the web that I slightly touched has been completely removed!
Of course I had seen this picture, Peter! I even commented on it! I didn't remember it had been you who posted it and didn't see it on your first page! Isn't it terrible? I keep forgetting so many things recently. Must be the age...Thank you for linking me to the Wiki page on spiders! There are some awesome photos in it and it's very interesting! Spiders are really amazing! I also have some in my collection and since other people's tags can no longer be seen on Panoramio, I'm linking you to my spiders. Maybe they are of interest to you. Best wishes, Anne
Well its taken a while to find some spiderlings Peter but I reckon I got me some
I have not yet worked out team they play on though!
