77 Westbury Road, Dover, is where I lived between the ages of 3 and 7 (1954-1958).
At first, there was myself (John Latter), my step-mother and her 3 natural children. My then step-mother married again in about 1957.
We moved here from 10 Queen Street (where the armchair and rocking horse photos were taken) after my step-father, Charles John Latter, left the family home.
I went to Christ Church CofE Infants School ('Belgrave School') while living here (photo of the school, and of me in the school).
I've set up a Facebook Group for ex-pupils of Belgrave School, please visit and leave a message: Christ Church C of E Infants School, Belgrave School, Dover.

There are two windows on the side of 77 Westbury Road. The nearer large square one overlooks a small landing on the staircase.
The smaller window, on the other side of the buttress and just below the roof, is that of an upstairs toilet.
When I was 5 or 6, I climbed out of this window and down the pipe you can see to its left.
I was pretty pleased with this achievement, but my step-mother wasn't and I got a painful clip around the ear.
This, and many other similar injustices, probably contributed to my setting fire to the decorations on the Christmas tree one year.
Mind you, I had to do it twice before the decorations above the tree began to burn and from there spread around the whole room...
People paid me a lot more attention after that :)
UPDATE: We moved from 77 Westbury Road to 81 Clarendon Place in either 1957 or 1958.
