THIS PICTURE IS AMAZING. You should make an exhibit of this picture and pictures like it. It would be an instant success. I would go. LIKE

Thanks ddg. I can tell you that I was awestruck the whole way across Hudson Bay - just amazing indeed. And the patterns varied from one part of the Bay to the other. I will take you advice one day - I have some ideas about displaying them - but that will require another stage in my life. But I probably will achieve that.
Thanks for the encouragement.

Dear Ah-Pong,
It was an amazing flight across Hudson Bay! The patterns of ice change all the way. The largest pieces were in the east, but in the west it was very, very different. The ice had fractured so many times but then had been re-compressed and refrozen. It was like a terrazzo pattern. The wind and/or currents move the ice to the west such that the individual pieces of thawing ice collide and refreeze....over and over again.
I am delighted that you have enjoyed this image. Thanks.
And warmest greetings to you and your family - and best wishes for 2011.
