You were not at the head of Duncan Lake or even ten thousand feet above it when you took this photo. I think you where probably over in the East Kootenays flying over the Rockies, which are east of the Purcells.

BC Expediter is right, but this picture shows the front ranges near Calgary and the Kananaskis Region. The pyramid shape peak first in the foreground about 1 inch from the bottom just left of center is Mount Glasgow, with its long east ridge going left (Been up 3 times). Just to the right of Glagow the mountian with the long flat face is Mount Cornwall, and to the upper left of that is Banded Peak with the obvious cliff band below the summit pyramid. The long ridges in the background at right form each side of the Kanaskis valley, with the Opal Range on the left and the Kananaskis Range at right. The large valley system visible in the distance is Elk Valley.
Regards, Kevin.

Wow, you guys really know where this is....Can you place it on the map? I just took this pic flying over to Calgary on Westjet, and am clueless to the general area

Purcellman is probably right but placing it on a map is up to him. I'm not familiar with this neck of the rocks

I placed the corrected location and the dot on the map should move for the next update.
