Hello Paula and Alex, this pinetum is hosting nearly four hundred species of conifers, many of these are threatened in their natural habitat. The collection was founded towards the end of the nineteenth century by Bernard Willem Blijdenstein, a banker from a time when bankers were still trustworthy gentlemen:)

Do'nt ask me to give the Latin names of these conifers, I love trees very much but I can only say: "nice pine-trees".

Best regards, Claus

Hi Claus, I revisit your gallery. I love trees also. Hilversum is the home place of my mother-in-law. Nice place. Greetings, Francine

Hello Francine, next time you come to see your mother-in-law, you should also visit this pinetum. It's really a nice place with a variety of pine trees (it will remind you of Baguio City). There's also horeca with a terras.

Greetings, Claus
