This is an excellent composition, a very nice picture of a place that seems everything but nice! Greetings from Finland!

Hi Kimmo and thank you for your nice comment; I love this area of Namibia, a huuuuge area of dunes where you get amazed of how big and stunning they are... Ciao from Italy (I also love Finland where I went for many summers when I was "younger")

There is something captivating in deserts, I have to admit. They are so beautiful but also desolate. You have many good pictures, the desert and dune ones being my favorites.

i couldn't even imagine there is a place like this

Hi Setansavicz, thank your for yr visit to my collection. Yes, it is a sort of unbelivable place, those skeletons (dead trees!!) are believed to be about 900 years old, now black because the intense sun has scorched them!

stefansavicz on July 14, 2009

that is really unbelievable! thanks for the info. i didn\t know a piece of char can stand outside that long (they don\t get much rain though so it s no wonder things can get fossilised outside) and the dunes and the sky that contrast to the charred trees - i ve just never seen anything like this. really. not even in a photo. i ve heard the desert in namibia isn\t that unbearably hot as for instance sahara. is it true?
