There was a 14-year-old girl a couple of winters ago who climbed the north face then went on to do another climb (I can't remember what) on the same day. ChipStephan, I should clarify. The hike in my sneakers in the snow was to the top of Upper Yosemite Falls. Only 7 miles round trip - much easier than hiking the 17 miles (round-trip) to the back side of Half Dome. I did that hike 15 years ago with two of my brothers. I remember the cables at the end, and the dehydration very well.

Yeah, slow witted as I am, I figured that out after I'd posted my comment. Still, that's a tough hike in any weather, I say as one who struggles with the 4-Mile trail.
