This is an attempt at reproducing a photo from 1983 by Simon Fleming, who I'll credit for the composition, although I can see now that he was standing a bit over to the left.

My photo of this back alley looks fairly similar to his apart from the obvious seasonal changes and the apparent felling of a tree on the left at the far end. The house on the right nearest the camera has been converted into a Spar corner shop since 1983. A more visible change is the profusion of wheelie bins. This and the increase in parked cars on the front of Leeds's streets (to saturation point) is the most striking visual difference (apart from changes in specific buildings) between the 1980s and 2009, as far as I can tell from Simon Fleming's photos.
