Very nicely done. Great example of why HDR is really a better representation of what we see. Especially in high contrast scenes such as this where our eyes compensate so quickly we see the image on the right. A+ and take a seat at the head of the class SirFin. :)

Best regards from up north, Tom

Hey Tom, being a "Gandalf" wizard yourself of HDR, you get it! I was preparing for a photography club meeting in a few weeks and thought why not show why I love HDR images. My iMac can do a very quick screen capture and so I pulled the two images side-by-side and Voila!

So, Dr. Tom, I appreciate the grade... you're my favorite professor for sure...LOL! By the way, when do I graduate??

SirFin and the three bears, too hot, too cold...just right

This is exactly why I am so drawn to HDRI. My love affair with HDR is all because of both you and Tom. I have told Tom before that he is the reason I decided to post my photos on Panoramio and I want you to know that you, SirFin, are the main reason that I strive to do better. It was Tom's horses and your beautiful landscapes. Thanks, SirFin. Gratefully yours, Sharon

"Diploma, we don't need no stinking diploma." In my opinion your graduating has already happened. :) (Had to come back and Y* this for future reference.)

Seems us Virginians have had quite a positive influence on west coast Sharon. Her latest HDR work is really well done. Truly gratifying for me to think that I had a small part in her desire to shoot and her growth as an artist. :) Really neat.

May the force be with you, Tom

Thanks Tom! Don't have any wall space for a diploma anyways!!

Yep, "West Coast Sharon" has taken off as we knew she would! It's really nice to have been there to see it happen.

Sorry, Sharon old Virginian Tom has now given you a name that sticks...West Coast Sharon...LOL!

That's quite an honor!!

Hi SirFin great HDR. Congratulations. Love it, from a pale and dull photo and walla ! magic - superb contrast with brilliant colours!

Currently I'm using Dyanamic Photo HDR v 3.43 for my creations. I know nothing of Photoshop.

Greetings AZRA!

Thanks for the compliment...I think when people see side-by-side images of regular and HDR, they will be amazed! You have a great gallery, very varied and many shots have very creamy bokeh...if I may ask, what camera setup do you use?

Best to you, SirFin in the USA

Al Mahat (AZRA) on June 13, 2009

You are most welcomed, SirFin.

Thank you for the compliments of my gallery. I shoot almost anything and used mostly either th Nikon D80 or the Cannon IXUS.

Settings on camera especially wiht the SLR, mostly customised. Bokeh comes with the lense I used ( f1.8 50mm and 70-200mm f2.8) and the distance between the camera - object - background. Set to single / nearest object shooting mode.

Regards from Malaysia to USA ...AZRA™

Oh, AZRA, I thought you had some "killer" equipment!! I just rented a Canon f/2.8 70-200mmL IS USM lens to take some music festival shots. Your landscape shots are amazing, as well as others...I look forward to seeing your upcoming pictures!!

Best to you, AZRA...SirFin on the Other Side of the World from You!!

Hi Sirfin for landscape capture I normally use the Sigma 10-20m f3.5 wide angle lense.

The f2.8 lense will capture great shots under low lighting environmet, eager to see wonderful lightings effects, especially at concerts. A good choice of lens.

Like wise looking forward on your side too.

I SirFin and Tom. I am going to use West Coast Sharon for a little change of pace. SirFin, I listen to Caycee and she was amazing. Later, West Coast Sharon

You have done us proud, West Coast Sharon! I bet you're the only one on Panoramio, and that be millions mind you, that has been bestowed with a name! If you were a Navy pilot, not Viper, not Maverick, you be West Coast Sharon! How cool is that! Now, just don't crash and burn!

With all due respect, SirFin and Tom in the great Commonwealth of Virginia

Thank you for the Honor Bestowed Tom and SirFin. You are both like the God Fathers of my experience on Panoramio. Even though I am a very old lady, I am very young at heart and at Photo Taking Abilities. ~~West Coast Sharon~~

Great Photo... you have so many beautiful ones taken in the Norfolk/VB area... everytime I find one one on Google Earth I can tell right away who took it.
