Do you know if this old church is still in use? I think old churches are full of character.

One of the tags you put on this is "Croghan New York" (near where it is mapped). My wife's family is from that general area, and we used to go to a deli in Croghan to get hot dogs (a kind of sausage) that they called "red hots."

This church in Belfort (town of Croghan) is reputedly the oldest Catholic church north of the Mohawk River in NY State. Not in regular use anymore, I believe it is only used for occasional weddings, and maybe funerals as the cemetery is next door.

Red hots might of been at Schultz's hot dog stand, still standing.

My wife says Schultz's was the restaurant/hot dog stand, and we got the red hots at Croghan's meat market. We tended to buy 10 lbs (about 4.5 Kg) at a time, and freeze them.

I don't think they were as good frozen, but they were way better than anything we can get locally today.
