Very nice Ian. I do like this kind of "path" photos... I've got one myself that I like very much... Best regards.

Thank you very much, Mica and Simona,

This was a beautiful walk, way up on the high volcanics of north Bali. If you move the GE image to the right you will see Lake Beratan in the caldera far below. Often this area is covered in cloud so the forest is filled with plants that grow on others (epiphytes). It is a beautiful leafy forest.

Kind regards,

Ian

So can I gondor. As I walked this trail a dog came to meet me, and then turned an led me along the trail always about 10M ahead. After a couple of kms the dog disappeared off to the side in the undergrowth, as if he was trying to hide and then surprise me. At that point, I decided to turn around, so calling the dog I began to go back. At first he didn't come, but after about 5 mins he caught me up again, so I then turned to go further again, and he let me go for a while before following then going ahead again. I am sure he must have been called Basho! He certainly didn't want me to get lost in the forest.

Ian, even wild dogs feel your love to nature and submit you a so beautiful walk in the forest. Olga

Olga I think he was a domesticated one and probably came from the Hindu temple on the mountain top, but I must admit I was a bit uncertain, and I didn't want to find myself surrounded by a pack, so I backed off and thought that was wise. But yes, I did speak to it gently, and without any threat.

Warmly,

Ian

Beautiful photo, Ian, so inviting, one wants to explore further. Theolfa

It certainly was a delightful walk, Theolfa, and I thought that I was visiting a corner of Bali that not many outsiders would have ever visited. So it seemed worth adding to the GE collection, that others may come to know and love this special environment.

Warm greetings, Ian
