This looks a lovely pool to fish. I must have walked quite close to it but not seen it.
Not far away are Cuttle Mill Pools here and here
What do they fish like these days?
Best wishes, Peter
hi peter how are you?cuttle mill is quite popular but it always has been but it still fishes quite well its been a long time sence i last went there.nice to hear from you again.roger
I was looking at a photo by gezza and noticed you had mentioned Walcot Lakes.
I fished there when it was BAA (might still be?) during the 70’s and the first season was brilliant, but hardly caught a fish on our other visits there.
Talking about pools there was another that we fished a few times, and we passed by a couple of years ago. It was Bretby Pools (BAA at the time?)and I took this photo.
When we walked up the hill we found the entrance where you could drive your car to a small car park closed by a gate and the pool now out of bounds. If you see in my note below the picture there is another gate to the right which is a Public Footpath and they have tried to stop walkers using it.
Did you ever get to fish these pools?
hi peter Walcot lakes i used to love it there all the lads from the fishing club i was in used to spend the week leading up to the start of the fishing season there. We used to camp at the pub at the top of the lane and fish the pools at the back of clive of india house(there was no close season on them becase they came under welsh water).Bretby pools no i never fished it but i went there once as a BAA bayliff to check lincenses but never did fish it. BEST WISHES Roger
