Mendoza region in the western Argentina under the severe arid climate is richly cultivated with grape, utilizing the water of the exotic rivers such as the Mendoza flowing down from the Andes. The peak on the left hand of this photo is Tupungato volcano (about 6550 meters in altitude) and the one in the middle is a peak (about 5850 meters) in the Range of Plata (Cordón del Plata), a sub-range of the Andes.
アルゼンチン西部のメンドサ地方は、乾燥の厳しい気候であるが、アンデスから流れ来るメンドサ川などの外来河川の水を使ってブドウ園などが開かれている。写真背後に連なるアンデス山脈のうち、左端付近に聳える山はトゥプンガトTupungato火山、（標高約6550ｍ）、写真中央付近の白峰は、アンデスの前山にあたるプラタ山脈のひとつの峰ピコプラタ（Pico Plata標高約5850ｍ）。2005年3月23日撮影。
