Beautiful, Keith! I like the inclusion of the rocks in the foreground which adds to the feeling of depth, and the subdued colour, misty hills, anchored sailboats, all giving an atmosphere of tranquility. Theolfa

Thanks Theolfa. I was shooting almost directly into the sun and it seems to have worked the way I wanted it to. It was actually much brighter than it looks.

Thanks, blais. I think the scene owes more to nature tan to my skill with the camera. This area of England is very easy to photograph.

Another lovely photo Keith. I said that not much could beat the Lake District, and now you're proving that :)

Thanks again Amelia. Ullswater is a great place. At the north end are rolling tree-clad hills and the further south you go the more rugged it gets, which feeds the anticipation. At the southern end the road leads to Kirkstone Pass, which is spectacular yet quite an easy drive (but watch out for coaches coming the other way!).

I bet I've typed all this and you already know all about this area!

I don't know so much Keith, it's a long time since we've been up to the lakes. But I do know that it is beautiful. The last time we were there it was Wastwater we visited. It was stunning weather too :))))

Cheers, Amelia

Beautiful shot Keith, great depth and interest right through the shot. Ullswater is one of our favourite (and most photographed) places in The Lakes, can't wait to visit again in August!
