I believe you know habana better then me... This picture was taken 3 years ago, and I only remember it was in front of an open market, where they sell old books, handcraft t-shirts and things like that.

1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air Hardtop

You placed the picture several miles west, in the Miramar area.

Malecon is between the Habana Bay and east of the Almendares river.

Indeed I grew up over there, and enjoy visiting "virtually" using Google Earth/Panoramio.

Many tourists, including a lot of Cubans, place the pictures way off the correct locations, I have seen beaches in the center of the Island !

Thanks for all the pictures.

Thanks for you indication, Idid accept your correction. Do you recognize the place I describe? the Market I told about?

Did you check also my other pictures of Cuba? I Guess that one or twoo would be missplaced.

That market did not exist when I lived in Cuba; but any Cuban from Habana can tell you where the Malecon is at (wall alongside the coast).

When I lived over there they had hardcore Communism and it was illegal for anyone to sell anything. Those markets are only a few years old.

In Google Earth there is a flea-market shown across the Malecon at Avenue D, which looks like the market you are talking about, to be precise this is about 1 mile west from where we just relocated the foto.

But at least the foto now is over the Malecon, in the right neighborhood, before it was in another town !

Thanks for your pictures.

Thanks ecobio,

I am not sure I can replace it in the correct location, cause I didn't identifie teh palce in google earth, but I can tell you I took it in front of a tradicional market of many different things, from t-shirts to handycraft, in the Malecon, I really don't remeber where really it was, if you can hlep me and give me the correct coordinates I will replace it.

Thanks, Alex
