Fantastic shot -- magical spot. I've been to within a couple hundred yards, but ran out of energy and daylight. Obviously you're a conditioned hiker so you might enjoy the accounts of Waialeale and Kawaikini ascents, Mohihi, Moeloa Falls, other great spots etc at my website www.waialeale.org.
