When I was young, the glass only entered in the architecture, and it was very attractive. But with time I began to compare the beautiful buildings of the past good archtectors and the glass buildings, and I found that both the huge amount of glass as the absence of windows makes the building "blind". The old archtectors new very well to find the necessary proportions between the wall and window, and the eye looking to them is not tired. Olga

Olga Yakovenko ~ Your observations are quite true Olga in one sense, classical proportion in the beautiful buildings of the past had evolved and been refined to the nth degree. I think however that glass has now become s structural medium as well as as a medium that permits light and sight to pass through ~ the marvellous sweeping curves that are now possible in very complex forms too and the reflective qualities of the glass when required permit exciting new forms to be developed where the imagination is often the only restriction ~ I find great beauty in these sort of new buildings and rejoice in capturing them. The heart soars.
unilt ~ Thank you dear friend for another Best of ~ it is the building and the architect who really enjoy the honour of course :) Best wishes to you Uni ~ Ciao nick
