Before it was the Cock and Bull this was the Sinfin Hotel. My dad, George was a regular along with Joe McCaig, Frank Brown and, I'm sure, thousands of others. In the sixties it was difficult to move in here on a Sunday lunchtime... quite difficult to breath too. I remember, as a very young boy, dad starting a song from his seat whilst playing dominoes and the whole bar joining in. Mind you, he had a terrific voice and used it. I used to play in the garden and it seemed, in retrospect, the responsibility of whoever was out there to look after the kids. This responsibility was taken seriously. Later it was the Saxon. By the weirdest of coincidences my new wife looked after this pub quite briefly with one of her previous husbands Chris Naylor. :)
