Dear Fried,

I love the way you depict landscapes, taking them as they are in one sense, yet being unconventional in your constructs, often.

Well, that is the way it seems to me as I take my first wander through your gallery. It is therefore a compliment on the one hand and an intriguing invitation on the other to keep coming back to see what experiment you have just undertaken with light or with subject or with composition, and to enjoy your creativity.

I recall reading in your bio that you don't try for art, but your creativity and use of different conventions is art. Good art.

So thanks for visiting my gallery that I might see yours.

Dear Ian,

What an extraordinairy reaction you gave, and what a pleasant surprise to find it. I'm delighted. Especially where you touch exactly my aim in photograpy. I, on my turn, had a great pleasure at your galery and I'm sorry for not letting you know more explicit - but I will return soon at yours.

Goodday or -night, - Fried

Dear Fried,

I feel quite some grief as I write in response to your note to say that you are leaving Panoramio. Here is where I started my friendship with you, and nothing in Google can deny our fellowship. Over the last 2 years, I was in the process of retiring, volunteering overseas for some semesters, and waiting for our new house to be built. We have now been living in the new house for about 5 weeks, with workmen still around almost every day. This mobility and resettling has interrupted my engagement with Pano friends, some of which feel like real lifetime friends even though our friendship has been an e-friendship. As I reread my comments above, I meant every word and it has been special to have conversed with you. Thank you for your wealth of experience, your passion, your creativity and your integrity.

Sincerely,

Ian
