I reckon it is the stupefying effect that we happy snappers have on these leggy creatures.

It reminds me of another similarly disfunctional feathered friend JUST HERE

Thanks for the link...that heron has a few more views!!!! This heron was out of his territory and comfort zone I think, it's not common to see these ones like this, I was lucky.
