Nadia, you've made very nice 'flaming macros'! This really fantastic red tree is not..."acacia" at all! Its name in Latin, a scientific language, is Delonix regia. Some trivial names of this tree are Flame tree, Flamboyant, Royal Poinciana etc. Flame tree is native (‘endemic’) to Madagascar, from which it was distributed across a world including the Holy Land etc.

One thing is pity; there are no ‘impressive’ names of this tree in Russian! :)

Изумительно красивая аллея! Эти цветы имеют запах?

Nadia Kushnir on January 25, 2010

Спасибо, Лена! Нет, эти цветы не пахнут. Сейчас цветут цитрусовые - вот они источают очень сильный аромат...

Nadia Kushnir on January 25, 2010

Благодарю, Владимир!
