Dear Bastian,

Do you know Michel a french engineer from Paris living in the rainforest (married with Bake woman) in the East from Ouesso ?

Maybe you can help me with an adventure in the past in 1995, read first this website page here

Read the text and my question is, do you know this person or do you have some emailadresses for me from persons who can help me to track this person.

I was not flying from Brazaville to Ouesso directly in that period but first to another place (that place had a small zoo with a lowland gorilla research centrum) and some tourist agencies who are knowing Michel (that’s why I came there in that area) and I think it had a nice terras Café/Hotel Paris at a roundabout, but I can’t remember the name of that place anymore (I looked on the internet but very difficult to find information). It is possible it was Pointe Noire. Around the corner of Café Paris was/is a tourist office who know Michel.

I really hope you can help me with an email address, so I can find out which documentary the BBC was working on and how Michel (or Brigitte) are today …

In Ouesso, three people were working for Michel, an old policeman and two reporters working on a kind of newspaper. I was staying there in a small hotel/pub (only two small rooms) and that people were living near that hotel/pub. I recognize the places when I am looking to Ouesso with Google Earth (Pointe-Noire is not clear with Google Earth).

By boat I had to go for 6 hours to the South-East, and from there a 4 hours trip by jeep into the jungle (track maintained by the Baka, cutting branches). I think that departing place (by jeep) was an area for transporting cutting trees (wood) …

Thanks in advance …

Hi Bastion,

I answer in English so other people may follow it. Thank you very much for your answer, this was a gap in my life for 15 years. I could not track Michel and others back afer a few years (I wrote but never received an answer back for e.g. the photos I send to the pygmies). I have send an email too to Jerome and Ingrid Lewis (thanks again for their names) to get more facts, I am sure I met them (with their child) in base camp where they were leaving for an expedition in the morning for month's to the pygmies deep in the jungle. So maybe they have many answers because I guess you have never been at Michel in his base camp, or did you ? I am interested to track the documentary, Brigitte (cookin) and the English girl (who wrote the text for the documentary). Funny I post all their letters (also for the members of the BBC or Discovery team) in Holland for the UK (that was faster) ....

Greetings,

Felix Scheiffers
