According to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Las Vegas, this is the largest Catholic church in Nevada, seating over 2,200. It is right off the strip, near the Tropicana (visible to the right).
It is also one of the churches of which it is said that there is (or was) a Franciscan Friar who used to (or still does) go around to the casinos to cash casino chips put in the collection basket, earning him the nickname of "chip monk." Surprisingly, the urban legend debunking site Snopes.com confirms the story, but there is a conflicting story from a local neighborhood paper that identifies the "chip monk" as Dale Dombrowski, a lay person, not a friar, who sometimes played organ here but regularly played at the Roman Catholic Guardian Angel Cathedral. He claims to have performed the chip cashing duties and was given the nick name of "chip monk," according to the story.
There is also a panorama shot of this church, showing some of the nearby hotels on the strip.
Great perspective and exposure! Like + Fave! Greetings from Germany
