Spectacular!
Same thing for the F-22 RAPTOR. Also, I love the MAILBOX. For these three: my vote "best of ..." and added to my favorites. Your gallery is simply amazing!
What is HDR? A kind of camera? A software?

Very nice photo! Did you use any color filter for the shot?
John Gillett, on October 11, said:
Hi Hanzo, not a physical filter. I did use HDR though.

I have been messing around with HDR for a little while just using a standing kit lens for me rebel xsi. Can't seem to get quite the detail that I want. How crucial is it to have say an L-series lens for that crisp and sharp detail? Pretty much the lens will set the bar?
John Gillett, on October 11, said:
I can get good results without an L-series lens. Actuall, this shot, and most of my landscape shots, use a non-L-series, wide angle lens. The Sigma 10-20. It's just a matter of using an F-stop around 8 to 11, or more if you want to get a star effect on light during night shots.
I find getting a good HDR result is mostly derived by the treatment in software. I use Photomatix and finish with dodging & burning and sharpening in Photoshop. Before starting the HDR process, you'll want to properly split your exposures. No need to use a mostly blown exposure, nor a mostly black one. Keep the ISO low, as grain is increased by HDR software.
Good luck & have fun! Cheers, John

Hello John,
Just to add to the conversation on grain and noise. I recently purchased Noiseware Professional Edition from Imagnomic for about $90. If you go to Stuck in Customs website you can get a coupon code for 10% off..
At anyrate. The software has done such a wonderful job that I am going back through all my Film, Slides and Digital shots and reworking them using this noise software. I have seen real bad noise in darker images and this software has really helped. It is also nice that you can adjust how much noise want to have and still keep the image sharp.. I hope to repost some of the older images in the near future..

I'll have to check out that site. I've been using something called Neat Image for years.

If you have the chance take a good look at the stuck in customs web site. Trey Ratcliff does some pretty phenomenal things with HDR and he travels the world to boot.
