Australia was playing South Africa at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) and Jacques Kallis was on 97 when Australian fast bowler, Brett Lee, sent down this bouncer. Kallis avoided it successfully. This was the New Year Test Match played in Sydney, 2005. Australian captain Ricky Ponting is the pictured fieldsman, I believe. Kallis is a right-handed batsmen and a fast-medium bowler who was born in Cape Town. In test cricket he has taken more than 200 wickets and scored more than 2000 runs. This innings was his 19th test century, I believe.

I wasn't at the Sydney Cricket Ground yesterday, but I was watching the Test Match between Australia and India on TV. And what a great display of batting we witnessed by Michael Clarke (251 not out), Ricky Ponting (134) and Michael Hussey (55 not out) with more to come today!! Clarke's score is the highest by an Australian at the SCG surpassing Doug Walters' 242 against West Indies in 1968/69.

And while all this was reverberating through Australian pride, it was paralleled in South Africa by a similar display by Jacques Kallis (224), AB de Villiers (160 not out) and Jacques Rudolph (51 not out) against Sri Lanka. South Africa declared at 4-482.

When will Clarke decide to declare against India? He is still batting, has time on his hands in this match but must grab the advantage accumulated with both hands, leaving time to bowl India out. His bowlers won't disappoint I am confident.
