Wonderful capture, Amelia. "Cockells and Mussels alive, alive oh!" Well I don't think Snails are Cockells but anyway I tried. It's a great photo. Best regards. -Art

I think you cause complete mayhem in that wee Pool, Amelia. All them welks and mussels will be thinking the World,s come to an end, and, if it was me there, it would. They,d all be in the boiling water as soon as I got them home. :D scally.

Amelia Royan, on July 2, said:

Oh Scally - you have just taken me back to when I was a wee lassie, and I used to collect whelks here. My Mum would put them in boiling water, and then pull them out with a bent pin! I hated them!!!!!

Cool! So many shells & textures fading into very silky looking water.

I am with you I prefer looking at them to eating them.

Dear Amelia,

Here in Tonga I have been attending a major national event which runs for 10 days, concluding last night. There were banquet feasts twice every day and last night at the finale we sat down to our supper at 1am. The tables were loaded with the most wonderful food, and every meal there were mussels such as the above on the menu... mussels, lobsters, prawns, shrimps, fish, oysters, crab, and another 50 or more dishes per table! I believe I am somewhere in the Pacific!
