This spectacular view includes Sydney College of the Arts in the foreground White Bay, Johnstons Bay and Darling Harbour (red & white vessel docked), Sydney CBD (right), Harbour Bridge and North Sydney (left), and east down the harbour to South Head (right) and North Head (left). Both the iconic Sydney Opera House and Macquarie Lighthouse (right horizon) are clearly visible because they are both white.
To my mind, this is the best view of Sydney from the west!
Thanks for your affirmation and for writing to say so. I love the view too! But it is quite remarkable that it has had so many hits, probably mostly through Google Earth or some linked site, yet you are the first to respond. Thanks for being so kind.
Wonderful landscape.... I hope to visit my uncle... someday over there. Bye Ian
And when you do, Pietro, make sure you meet up with this Panoramio friend!
And yes, Sydney has some wonderful physical landscapes as well as some great urban environments.
Where does your uncle live?
Hi Ian, thanks for offer, of course I will meet you. My uncle lives in Sydney in the area of North Ryde, but I am not so sure about. Keep in touch. Greetings
This is a great picture, it brings back so many memories of our visit to Sydney. I can pinpoint places we visited. How did you take this pic?
Thanks for your comment. I am pleased that you enjoyed your time in Sydney. I was on a commercial flight for this, and as it was new aircraft the windows were neither scratched nor discoloured, so I was fortunate.
My daughter is currently in BC so we are seeing lots of wonderful images from there at the moment as they upload them to Flickr.
Greetings from AUS.
wonderful view! greetings from Morocco
All you need, kamotos is a window seat when landing at Sydney Airport for this photogenic city is spread out around the harbour just waiting to be photographed.
Warm regards from Australia to Morocco.
Fine. I will remember that! Thanks so much Ian
When are you coming, kamotos? You will love Sydney from the ground too, but do enjoy night photography of its buildings such as Sydney Tower and the Opera House, etc, etc!!
Regards from Bulgaria! Nikolay
It is a city that is easy to love, especially from the air or from the water. I am not so keen on its roads. I am sure gald that you appreciate this view, Nikolay.
mY COMPLIMENTS for your gallery IAN
Thanks you Dadu.Alin.
wow quel prise de vue!
j aime beaucoup!!! les australiens semblent aimé la navigation on dirait, a voir le nombres de bateaux
I am very pleased that you have appreciated this wonderful aerial photo of our wonderful city. This shows off its harbour setting, well.
When a city has such a marvellous harbour at its heart, it is wonderful that people make great use of the harbour, and they do. It certainly helps to have a warm climate for it is possible to be on the water 365 days per year. And with new record summer temperatures being set this week, Sydneysiders have headed to the surf, the pools, the harbour .. or into air-conditioned shopping centres.
Thanks for your appreciative comment..
