Western Bay I can believe, but Road?
That's a beach, Tony.... LOL
Did you put your camera on the road, Tony?
Greetings from Thailand
Steve - My car was behind me when I took this shot.
Anna - The lovely Wairarapa coast!
Lisa - OK, It's a beach road! More of a track across the shingle to the baches.
Worapong - No, just held it as normal.
Absolutely Positively Wellington
Great sky! :)
This is a TRICK photo!
Amazing! Let me explain. When I first pulled it up, it looked as though it was looking down the center line of a rode, and that there was a wicked curvature on the right side. ( very out of proportion-like.)
Then after reading all of the comments, and what you wrote back, I took a closer look, only to suddenly discover that it was a beach all around, and what I 8thought8 was a center line was actually the very narrow road it's self. Can you see what I'm seeing here? I am still entranced with how this can appear two ways.
That's wicked! I hope you don't think I'm nuts! I can still see it both ways.
Now that you mention it, Mary Alice, I see what you mean. You're not nuts, be assured. :D
It is a very nice picture Tony and I think the ladies are right...'
Kindest regards, Gabe
'erm - of course the ladies are right...
Marcel - Thank you! Its a great beach, too!.

First off, thank for commenting on my shot of Western Bay Road.
I can see what you mean about it looking like a very wide road, with a center line and a wicked bend at the right!
In fact it is a very wide (and long) beach made of black, volcanic sand. The "center line" is the "road - just a semi-permanent track across the sands.
Well spotted! I would of never of seen that myself, as I knew it was sand.

PS Here is another view of the same beach taken a little further along.
Great Shot tony, and I,ve been on a lot worse unsealed roads in the South Island, this one looks very reasonable, and there,s the chance that the Sea will keep the dust down. cheers scally.
This is basically compressed sand and shingle, Scally. There are a couple of streams that cut across it too.
What a beautiful landscape.
Very good atmosphere, photo, Tony!
Best regards gatyi
John - Its a very quiet beach!
Whoelius - A beautiful part of the country.
gatyi - Thank you for your comments. Glad you like it.
Never been surfing around the Wairarapa beaches, Jacqui. Those waves can get right up when the weather gets going!
