GREAT! The rocks looks impressive!

Vasco Pires on May 31, 2007

Is that my illusion or that rock (in the thumbnail view) seems like the face of a dwarf warrior?

Vasco Pires on May 31, 2007

More than the face really, it could be the whole torso. And has beard and all. quite astonishing.

Did you shoot from that angle deliberately?

I have noticed that you have on anaglyph but not on x-3d, it's a pitty, cause I still can not see anaglyph that good. I wonder if in 3D the duarf effect still appears

Hehe :-) Well, i don`t like x-3d... I get headache! I can watch them, but I dont like it. I perfer the RED-CYAN glasses.

Nils16: Thanks for your comment I understand. I get headaches, too, looking at X-3d for any extended period of time.

Vasco: The picture was, as the late Bob Ross used to say, "a happy accident." It just showed up when I was preparing them for posting. I hadn't noticed it when I was taking the picture. I had intended to shoot the Cathedral Spires, the two pointy columns to the left of the "dwarf", and wasn't paying much attention to the Cathedral Rocks on the right.

The next day, I told a friend that I had been out of town and up in the mountains the previous day. He asked if I had gone to talk to guru on mountain top. I said no, but I took his picture. Hence, the "Grumpy Guru".

I'll take "Troll" too, being of Scandinavian origins. "Dwarf warrior" fits too, since I'm also a Tolkien addict.

There's an X-3d version at http://www.panoramio.com/photo/1783088

THX. Even I have a 22" Widescreen TFT, I perfer the anaglyphs ;-) Those X-EYES make me feel pain in my eyes and head...

Chip Stephan on June 1, 2007

Nils15, I have a 22" widescreen also. I find it much easier, when viewing X-3d photos full screen, to get about 3 or four feet away from the screen. It takes less effort to bring the two images together. I agree that with some 3d photos, but by no means all, anaglyph is just the better choice.
