Ah-ha! Attackers beware, these soldiers can sight you in regardless of your path! Thanks for the explanation...I figured it had something to do with cannon, but couldn't place it until I saw this complimentary photo, which is also unique and interesting in its own right. I don't know how I missed it earlier. The red brick stands out, and makes me wonder if the heat and concussion from cannon blasts may have caused the brick to show through, whereas the paint has remained elsewhere on the wall.
