This is a good one too as the house gives some perspective to the size of the lightning...

See ya from Sandy ;)

Sandy,

It must have been a very large bolt as it was probably 8-10 miles away.

Best wishes, Leo

Like the new shots as well. I came over just to ask where you were when you took these shots. Do you have a waterproof camera or were you under some type of cover? Haven't really thought much about it but for some reason today on the drive home I started wondering about it. We would LOVE some rain here. It is getting really dry.

Well, I'd better head to bed!

Thank you, JF.

I was standing on the back deck when I shot these. It wasn't too wet as the storm was still a couple of miles away and the rain was very light.

Cheers, Leo

You did it again, Leo! Another perfect capture of a big and scary lightning! I have never been able to catch one, but honestly, I haven't really tried because they scare me to death! It's a fantastic shot! Best wishes, Anne

Thank you, Anne,

Every time I look at this photo, I am amazed by the sheer size and scope of this lightning bolt. It has tentacles like an octopus!

I find it exhilarating and a little scary to stand outside with all this going on around me. This night, the light show went on for about 30 minutes. The closer it got, the more frequent and brighter the lightning strikes. By the time it was directly overhead, I could not capture any strikes because they totally washed out the photo to an eerie blue-white glow.

Best wishes, Leo
