Gainsborough Trent Bridge from the Nottinghamshire side of the River Trent.

This bridge was built in 1787, by parliaments approval.

In the 1086 Domesday Book, Gainsborough was of little importance and was recorded as having no church.

The town is at latitude 53 deg. 23 min. 40 sec. north, longitude 40 min. west.
