What I would give for some of those blackberries!!! They don't grow well here because, believe it or not, it is too dry. However, on the coast and around Seattle, they consider them weeds and burn the vines.
Or are they black raspberries? Just saw them two photos down.
Meryl makes dumplings with blackberries or raspberries and the taste is quite similar. We were surprised as you cannot find raspberries in south Louisiana and we never tasted them until about five years ago. Our parents always kade them with blackberries.
Hi Leo! Yes, you are right the edible berries in the collage are black raspberries. I LOVE blackberry cobbler. Here I settle for the one in the freezer at Wal - Mart. My cousin in south GA keeps telling me how easy they are to make but if you have to buy the frozen berries might as well buy the cobbler and be done with it.
Don't know if you are supposed to or not since it is a nature preserve but I always sneak a few for an after lunch snack! There are actually quite a few there - the most I have seen in one place here.
When I came back to the preserve in July I wandered what new things I would find to take photos of. Not as many birds - the babies are grown - nor flowers. But there were berries of all kinds and color everywhere I looked so decided to do a collage to go with this title.
There were also a lot of dragonflies and damselflies but I will post them in August.
Don, No these are black raspberries. But they are certainly good.
Margot, it took me awhile to figure this one out but once I got it down it is very easy. I just didn't know how to make the program work. Picasa 3 made it for me. In case you do not know it is a free program for editing and storing photos you can use. Don talked me into installing it and I have been very happy with it.
Be careful where you take that hunger. I'm not sure but think some of these berries might be poisonous. Most I have no idea what they are.
Yes, it does not do everything but what it does it does well. I use it for putting my name and year (Jean's idea) on my photos and then export them so they are in a smaller (whatever the largest downsize is) format before uploading. Occasionally I will leave it in original format as I did this one.
Now I am going to try some different stuff too. I got up this morning and went to the river for sunrise. Most of the pictures are not meeting my approval as they are so I'm going to see what this program will do.
Have fun! I find a little cropping will often make a lot of difference. Off and on I adjust tuning & I always see if they look any better or not with the contrast and I'm feeling lucky buttons. I rarely find that auto color helps. Ever so often I play around with the effects page. But everyone likes different things & we all learn from each other. but overall it is just easy, simple and quick to use. I have a lot of fun doing the watermarking or signatures - some people do not like them or think they are too much work. But I can tell which photos I have used or which ones I have ready to post with them. Then I always have my other photo program that came with the computer as back up copies.
But as I said have fun! I've gotta run - work tomorrow!
Well I don't know about any of them except the black raspberries, but they are indeed quiet tasty. I had a few today. Probably the last as I will not be back there until August.
Sorry to be so late answering but I have been away and just tonight as getting ready to leave for home I have a few minutes.
I looooove berries also. I am in Washington state and we have eaten tons of berries....raspberries, blueberries, boisenberries, blackberries and cherries. It is a berry eaters paradise. The fruit you get at the farmers market here makes you think normal grocery store fruit is not edible.

Thanks to both of you for the visit!

Thanks for the info JF. I think my HP photosmart will do it too. If not I will download this one.
Any questions ask Don - he can tell you all about it.
I will do that. Was it pretty easy to understand?
I did it and it looks pretty easy to do. I want to try their editing features to see if I like it better than Photosmart. Thanks again for the tip.

I was just playing with it and it is worlds better than what I have. Thank you so much. Even the moon looks better..
Glad to hear it! Tell Don thanks too!
