Thank you! It's not an uncommon sight in the winter, but is rarely noticed either by locals or tourists.

Thank you! Every day I am amazed at how beautiful it is here.
Note the tree on the top of the right-most building. The height of that tree shows the height of the tops of the original Douglas fir trees that stood here 100 years ago, before they were all logged.

Nawitka, this shows really well the absurdly beautiful location of Vancouver. Gotta be good to live there : you've got sea and mountains. And a cool city to boot, as well.
Very nice shot. I saw that tree on the building when I went to the Celebration of Light festival this summer :)
I just favorited you, by the way - a little dose of Vancouver once in a while can't hurt ;)

jkh thank you so much! You just made my day! A little dose of Vancouver will be coming your way, but I have not been out much these last days, some rotten virus thing -- soon tho!
I'm glad you enjoyed our city when you were here. I was out on the water for the fireworks and it was an amazing night!

You have some great pictures. My ancestors emigrated to Port Moody, so I'll have to browse all your Vancouver shots when I have time. There are also some beautiful botanical shots Nawitka.

Thank you Mick Flynn for your very kind remarks! Port Moody is another little world, I used to live nearby in Burnaby. It is lovely, with sea and mountains close on every side.
Nawitka, on February 12, 2008, said:
Mick Flynn, maybe you are related to Burt Flynn, who has a park in Port Moody named after him: Burt Flynn Park. It is a wilderness area popular with dog walkers and mountain bikers.

I doubt it Nawitka, the ancestors were from my Mothers side (Jones/Hillary).

Thanks for visiting, patrick tam. The photo was taken from our boat Nawitka, on the water. We were in between the red marker (shown on the photo) and the green marker (off camera) that show the entrance to False Creek. It's a great disappointment to me that these markers are not visible in the satellite photos, it would make my job much easier!

Wonderful and very impressing photo, Nawitka! The city of Vancouver withe the fog and clouds behind it and still leaving space to see the mountains.
Greetings, May

Greetings and Thank you very much, Swissmay. We love our mountains! I have a more recent photo of the building with the tree, if you are interested.
