I can understand your fascination with the history of this old land that we Brits take so much for granted. The magnificent ruins and remains of so many Abbeys, great walls and other fortifications bare witness to the turmoil, struggle and strife which is the catalyst that gave this nation its heritage and history over thousands of years. Much of it is quaint and most of it is very photogenic as you have discovered for yourself. It is clear from your many comments that you have a love of our country and its peoples.
