Nice photo. This isn't Sharpes Beach, however. The headland in question (the main focus of the image with the houses on it) is Skennars Head. The black rock outcrop at sea level extending out to the East (left) is Boulders. The photo is taken from the southern side of Lennox Point / Lennox Head looking south. The beach between Skennars Head and Lennox Head is Boulders beach, for reasons that become apparent upon closer inspection. The house in the centre of the photo is possibly the only one on the ocean side of the Coast Road, and has been on the brink of being resumed for decades - it has a mildly interesting story attached to it, with some mildly famous past owners.

The smaller headland to the east of the house is known as "Little Skennars". There is a protected cove on the other side. My Grandmother built a large brick & tile house about a quarter of a mile up the hill, and a stone's throw from the edge... (1950's?)I guess it would have sat about where the small clearing shows between the two pines. (about 7 acres with a fantastic view all the way to Cape Byron.) Anyway the NSW Gov't demolished it in the late 80's after her death, the theiving buggers It was the best place for a kid to grow up!

you should see what the new owners have built to be finished in 2009 obviously money is not an object because living so close to the water has got to keep the mantainance bills very high the place is huge pool deck probably every mod con you could think of to lucky buggers.

I was recently down that way and saw the house in question, yes maintenance is high but if they don't keep it the NSW gov will step in and demolish it so....may as well use it...say what
