Unmistakable feature of SF skyline!!

I try to figure out your home base and I'm thinking Oregon, but so many of your shots are taken in this locality. I have fond memories of this windy city, I loved its cosmopolitan atmosphere and the towns-folk with their relaxed and laid back attitude to life!!

The piers were most attractive, Fisherman's Wharf included, those entertaining sea-lions, clever street theatre, trips to Alcatraz, Sausalito and the Muir redwoods centre!! Several walks over GOLDEN GATE, both in the sun and SF fog!! Shopping in Ghiradelli, Cable cars in every direction (good fun) Evening dinner in China Town!! I did the whole touristy thing!! including a trip around town in one of those streeeeeeeetch limo's!! --

Great to hear from you, Jim! Yes, South Coast Oregon since mid 2007, but the SF area for 40 years, minus a few in LA area. You've done more in SF than have I - no Alcatraz, walking the GG Bridge, or the limo :O)

There are few living Alcatraz guards, but the last time I visited, there was a guy there called 'Frank Heaney'..Having recently published a book on his experiences there from 1948 to 63, he was signing copies in the Jails book store!! That place was no holiday camp!!

Yes, Jim, it was definitely hard core. I could never work up any interest in visiting or touring the place. Angel Island was nice, though it has a past also :O)
