Car Trouble on Highway 99 Near Lillooet British Columbia
OW! I hate when that happens Conrad. Your picture reminds me of similar circumstances with plenty of smoke in mid-summer (loss of steering fluids), just past the snow shed on the Coquihalla.
When I commented on this picture 2 years ago, I had no idea that I would be driving a motorhome up this road myself in 2011.
The Windstar wasn't there anymore, Conrad.
so, norrel, you must have been part of that convoy of RVs, full of mostly Dutch and German tourists, that form a seemingly solid line from Calgary to Tofino... Thanks. You keep our economy going ;-)
LOL... same RVs, different tourists... start at (Vancouver/Calgary) and finish (Calgary/Vancouver)... we play, "count the Germans/Dutch" when we're on the roads... then listen for them talking when they're in the parking lot to see how good we are at identifying from 100 paces ;-)
Glad you enjoyed the road without mishap Norrel! The Windstar is still alive and well and living the life of leisure on Vancouver Island; no more strenuous hikes for it. I will be driving this stretch again myself on Friday so will play the spot the Germans/Dutch along the way. As a long time Shell employee though I may have an advantage.

LOL! I took the other way around: from Vancouver to Calgary. (No one had told me about the taxes).

I'm rather good at it. I don't know what it is, but I can recognize a Dutch tourist from 100 paces, and I'm sure you can too.
Great sport for us locals ;-)
