Dover Castle taken from the top of the Main Magazine of the Detached Bastion (North Centre Bastion) on the Western Heights, Dover, UK..

This is an English Heritage site and the photo was taken on Sunday, 12th of July, 2009.

At the bottom of the photo is North Military Road which leads to the North Entrance. The Drop Redoubt is at the end of the ridge above the road.

This photo was taken on Sunday, 12th of July, 2009, when Mandy Whall, Roy Jeffery, Phil Eyden, Alasdair Peacock and myself visited both the North Entrance and the North Centre Bastion.

I've uploaded Cave Spiders, North Centre Bastion, The Smokey, Western Heights, Dover UK to this website, but other photos from the trip can be seen on My Flickr website (link below) at this "NCB 12th July, 2009" tag.

There's now a three-part video of the North Centre Bastion (aka "The Smokey" or "Dead Man's Island") available on YouTube:

Part 1: The Smokey, North Centre Bastion, Western Heights, Dover UK

Part 2: The Smokey, North Centre Bastion, Western Heights, Dover UK

Part 3: The Smokey, North Centre Bastion, Western Heights, Dover UK

and a video of the North Entrance which has been split into two to meet YouTube requirements:
