Nice shot Bits. What is the archway behind the boat? Is it an entrance to a hotel perhaps?

What a wonderful harbour you have in Boston Bits, oh and thanks for the SPAM warning earlier today. I was a little to thick to heed the warning but I caught on with a little help from a friend of mine. Cheers - Cal.

You've got a lot of color going on all over the place here, Bits.

Very nice!

LOL, Steve - don't worry, I'm smarter than her!

Thanks for all of that Dianne, marbiz, not1word, Cal and Guy ! And Cal, I thought you were just being extremely nice to him. But I couldn't stand to see spam on that shot!

marbiz - there's a very nice hotel in this complex, but it's The Boston Harbor Hotel. The Parker House is up by the location of this photo by someone else. It's the building you see the edge of on the right in the photo. Strangely, there don't seem to be any photos of it posted! But likely that's because its right smack in the middle of a bunch of historic burial grounds (including the one with Mother Goose.) Anyhow - its not next to the water, but a great location. I used to work in the building next door to it, so I know the area well.

and marbiz - you asked about the archway here. It's one that I have as a subject in a LOT of my shots (including the flag shot in a few rows down the page.) I even have a dedicated 'Rowes Wharf tag (not that tags do us too much good these days......) But now that I don't park my car over on the Fan Pier anymore, most shots are from the other direction.

Thanks B-n-P for the links and other "bits and pieces" (pardon the pun) of information. Its made me check up some info on CofB - Freedom Trail on the web. I hope we will have the time to go down to Rowes Wharf one evening and look around.

Excellent Bits, so much to see, including your 4th of July flag. Looks a busy and interesting spot. H

Nawitka on August 5, 2009

I'm glad you keep coming back to Rowes Wharf for us, Bitsy. It's got a lot going on, and taken together the shots are like a National Geographic spread! This is another super addition.

Bits-n-Pieces on August 10, 2009

Thanks very much for all that praise Helen and Nawitka ! Rowes Wharf is really a great addition to the Boston seafront, that's for sure.
