This is a photo of the planet Saturn, showing it rings. I took this photo from the Griffith Park Observtory, which is open to the public every night for viewing.
Yes, I took the photo directly from the lens of the telescope, by holding my camera up to it. It's not quite that easy as it sounds however. It took me quite some time to get it right and to be very clear because of the sensitivity of the camera to movement at the low aperature settings.
