Hi! steve111. It is thought by the natives in Staithes that there was nothing beyond this hill!! For that reason they stayed down there, living closely as villagers do. Unfortunately, there was much incest and many of the old families are very closely related!! But don't tell them I told you so ;>) No offence to the villagers intended "cretins" ;>)
