Streetview in Middelburg, the town where I grew up. I took this pic with my cell phone, hence the poor quality. I sure will come back here with my DSLR. Middelburg is an old city with many scenes like this one.

Thanks, Ippa. If you build stone houses, they last for ages. You Finnish could learn from that ;>)

Norrel, I live in a stone house but I'd prefer to live in a log house :D Cheers, Ippa

Love this view. Is this the area you were telling Lisa to go to?

That's pretty good for a cell phone, Norrel. Neat street.

I also noticed that wooden drop door next to the stairs. Are they, or where they common place in Holland? And" those pretty Flowers placed about. :-)

Yes, Margot, this is the 'old' Zealand. I told Lisa to go to the small city of Sluis, but if she had some more time, she could go to Middelburg.

I have a Nokia N73 cell phone for nearly two years, not1word. I'd chosen that phone because of the 3.2 Mpix camera. It still is a good buy.

The drop door was rather common in The Netherlands, Ray. It was an easy way to keep your cellar filled with stuff like firewood, stonecoal, food et cetera. You'll see doors like this on many old cityhouses all over the land.

Aha!

Thanks, Anita. Middelburg is a nice old town. If you ever happen to visit this place, don't forgot your camera. I did, so this is a cell phone picture.
