Ain't it great to look back and think you were involved in part of the history of a building.

Yes first opened in the date you said as the Nine Locks and Chainmakers. Then in 1992 reopened as The Corn Exchange. I was only in there the other day discusing the history of the pub with the Landlord. Do you know what was here pre 1983?

Yes some years before the nine locks pub there was a large building belonging to a bakery just up above the vine in the delph,the bakery belonged to a family by the name of Roberts and the building some three stories high was eather a corn or flour store/mill. This building was on the corner of the site,facing mountplesant
