Locomotives like this were built specifically for the logging industry. Aesthetic considerations were not a design factor, nor was speed; what mattered was the sheer grunt needed to haul hundreds of tonnes of logs out of the forests. This engine is in working order but is too big for the narrow gauge railway at the centre.
