Very nice composition Marilyn. I like how you've captured this one. Well done. The lone daisy is a nice touch. :)
Best regards, Tom
A beautiful landscape with the dark threatening clouds in the distance. I trust that they were moving away from you.
I'm for the subtleties of shading in the distant valley. I think the soft detail compliments the busy foreground. I hope you avoided getting soaked.
What a breathtaking view Marilyn! Fabulous colours and perfect composition! I love it!
Greetings from Ria
So many times I've heard of Clingman's Dome, though I have never been. My Mother and Father have told me about it, and I've always wanted to go, but I just never have quite made it there.
What a magnificent view. The threatening sky makes such a dramatic addition to this capture.
Lovely composition and a beautiful shot.
I hope you are doing well, Marilyn.
All the best from Georgia,
This has a really nice view. Wish I was there! Great picture Marilyn!

Many thanks, Tom, Steven, Hank, Ria, Mary Alice and J.L.D.. The views from here were wonderful! We heard a slight rumble of thunder to the south (the direction I was facing when I took the picture), and apparently some of the people at the observation tower at the very top of the mountain got nervous, but the storm was not near enough to be a threat.
We spent two days in the area--the southern part of the Blue Ridge Parkway and Great Smoky Mountain National Park--on a weekend away from doing historical research in Atlanta. Unfortunately, since my computer crisis in the spring, I don't have "real" photo-editing software on my laptop, and I'd like to do a little tweaking to most of them. Thus I'll be slow in posting more, but eventually I'll share some more from this beautiful part of the continent.
I like such wild landscape very much.
Very late thanks, Bruce and Janina. I wish I could see it at this time of year!
