See also: Baby Raccoon Goes Exploring

Baby raccoon entered and disappeared into the deep hollow of the old tree stump. It stayed a couple of minutes and then came back out. The raccoon mom called from nearby and they went on their way. This was a lucky shot. Just happened to have my camera in hand.

Raccoon live wild and free in the woods around my home. They sometimes use hollows and / or cavity trees as a home. They usually have several of these homes in the area.

Excellent photo,They are nice to look at but be aware they can be dangerous when cornered. I know I had an episode with one in my backyard... lol and recently had one living in my garage.

Salutations JLourenco

Jlourenco, yes, they are wild animals. We can never be too careful with the wild animals. I will be careful! Thank you. I hate to ask how you evicted your garage tenant.

The way I did was to make lots of noise during the day and at dusk. This way they fell insecure and move to a safer area. In my garage I have a loft like and during the day I went underneath and with a broom handle striking the ceiling in no time he was moving. lol

Whew, JLourenco, I am relieved to hear that story. I am so glad that it worked. Sometimes I hear of displaced animals and am so glad to hear a happy ending! Yours is no exception!

scarulu16, you speak well of the raccoons even if you see them a lot in journey. I'm glad. I enjoy animals, even the raccoon! They are very curious, indeed. They have much in common with humans, I think.
