Great fun doing this. All materials (except stonework) and labour were imported from UK. Project completed in seven weeks.

I was told by my clients that the locals could not believe the speed it was done in. They kept coming around to look.

We tried to get prices and times for the work from local builders. No one could start for eighteen months!!!

What really impressed me was the speed with which we got permission to do the work from the local council. I sent the drawings out, I think on a Monday, and by the following Monday we had the Permit de Construire. In the UK it would have taken at least 8 weeks.
