Great shot of this cathedral Ms Sara. We remember stopping here on a trolly tour of the city when we were there. I thought we had made some inside and outside shots but can't find them. We remember thinking that if you didn't believe before entering that you would before leaving. The internal beauty overcomes the soul. We see many more cakes since our last visit. You are truly an artist as what you do. We think you should be teaching at a culinary institute somewhere. You and your husband must have a bakery where you live. Ma&Pa Moose

Good afternoon Ma&Pa, so glad you took a look at this beautiful cathedral. It is just too bad that you can't locate your photos of this awesome building, maybe you will find them. I don't think I have been in this particular church, but there is another one in that area that I have been. Yes, one doesn't have much of a soul if you don't get spiritually moved when entering these beautiful buildngs. I am always overwhelmed when entering a place like this. My church here in my town, has such beautiful stainglass windows, with each one representing a story in the Bible. I have a photo now in the camera of a shot made inside my church. I'll post it up in a few days and maybe you'll take a look. I haven't even taken a look at it tho, hope it does the windows justice because they are really quite beautiful.

Thank you so very much for your kind remarks about my cake decorating. I love it, and I am so humbled when someone notices the hard work that goes into each of the cakes I do. Oh My, I might enjoy teaching this art, but I think I'd rather just keep it like it is, I've done it long enough that I consider sometimes, maybe hanging it up. (:>) No, we do not have a bakery here at our home. I do all this in my kitchen!! My cake hobby is a private thing I do, I do not advertise, people just know I do this, and I get all the calls I have time to do, or that I want to do. This way, I can turn down what I feel I do not want to do. Pretty neat huh?

Its great to talk with ya'll today. Come see me again! Sarah

Good evening Steve , I have been trying to get back to you on this beautiful cathedral.

It was dedicated on April 1, 1839. it seated 1000 people then. In 1850 due to hurricane damage, it was repaired, enlarged and then named the "Cathedral:. in 1898 it was destroyed by fire all but the outside walls and the spires. It was rebuilt and completed by Dec 24, 1899. In 1912 they did extensive redecorating to add the wonderful interior murals and massive stained glass windows.

There you go, some history on this wonderful building. I clicked on your link up here, I think I have already commented about that. It is so beautiful.

Have a great evening...I hope you and yours are all doing well.

Wow! I never saw this pic! I don't know how I missed it! This Church is indeed beautiful, the inside is stunning as well! I've actually been to this church once or twice. Splendid capture, Sarah! It must have been hard to get so much of this tall church into your camera screen!

Greetings,

Kyle

Kyle, I just zoomed up to the top so I could get that beautiful architecture, but in doing that, I missed the entrance to this awesome structure. We were moving and the traffic would not allow me to linger for more shots. I've not been inside this Cathedral, but have in another one of two in Savannah. Greetings to you as well/ Sarah

* Bruce* hello, I do not have good luck with mapping!!!! But I will get around to that soon I hope. As you see , it is in beautiful Savannah, Ga. and it is a gorgeous cathedral. Yes, there are a lot of cakes in my gallery Bruce, I do birthday cakes and wedding cakes and have posted several of each. My joy comes when I do them for my three little grandaughters and see the look in their eyes. Priceless!! Thank you so much Bruce, Sarah

Excellent capture! Have you tried a panorama yet? You can capture the whole front of the church by going onto a mode above SCN and choosing the right orientation. You can take 3-4 pictures going left-right, right-left, down-up, or up-down and add them all together using program that comes with your SX20 IS on a disc.

I love this shot, by the way. That sky is immaculate too! :] Love this church!

Liam, I haven't tried the panorama...tho one of my shots turned out to BE ONE!! in my tags under "in my garden" you'll see a shot entitled "a summer garden" on second page, that turned out to be a panorama, with those roses right down near the front porch and all along the front, just keeps going on...turned out pretty good when zoomed in... Thanks for taking a look at this wonderful Cathedral, isn't it a great place!
